Paco Rodríguez Azorín was born in Yecla (Murcia). He began his musical studies with Prof. Miguel Torres, at Conservatorio Superior of Murcia.

He received an award from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, giving him the possibility to move to France, where he studied french horn with Prof. Daniel Bourgue and chamber music with Prof. J.C. Montac at the Conservatoire Régional CRR of Versailles.

Furthermore he participated in many courses and masterclasses, with renowned horn players like Philip Farkas, Vicente Zarzo, Güelfo Nalli, David Johnson, Martin Hackleman and Adam Friedrich. He carried on his career being the principal horn at JONDE, and principal horn too at the Comunidad de Madrid chamber orchestra. He has collaborated with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Ciutat de Barcelona orchestra, Orquestra de Cadaqués and Phillarmonisches Staatsorchester of Hamburg.

He has been member of the music chamber group “Cornicinum Ensemble”, and in 1998 he founded the “Barcelona Petit Ensemble”, reocording and performing in Spain and Europe. He has appeared in different programmes for RNE, TV3 and the National Slovakian Television. Discography Sachmo, Opus Arte.

He has received numerous prizes, among them an Extraordinary “1st Prize” at Conservatorio Superior of Murcia, 1st Prize at the Conservatoire Régional CRR of Versalles, Honor Prize at the same Conservatory, and Bronze Medal unanimously at the International Toulon Competition (France).

Paco has recorded many world premieres and first recordings. In 2004 he performed the world premiere of the sonata for horn and piano by Albert Guinovart, at the 36th International Horn Society Symposium. The following year, he also performed the world premiere of the concerto of the same composer and, recently, “Mirall Trencat”  a trio for horn, violin and piano.  He has performed the premiere of the piece “Pecados Capitales” by Raúl Pérez, “Espurnes” by Xavier Boliart and also the first recording of “Fantasia para trompa y cuerdas” by Salvador Brotons.

As a soloist he has performed with the Orquesta de Cámara de la Comunidad de Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceo Chamber Orchestra, Camera Musicae and Academia del Liceu Orchestra.

On the international stage, he has made an intense artistic activity, offering masterclasses and concerts in different countries like Mexico, United States, Italy, Japan, France, Germany, Taiwan and Spain.

Special mention to his performances in the America Opera Theatre (New York), KHS Hall (Taiwan), Peón Contreras Theatre (Mérida, Mexico), Osaka Music College, University of Miami and Oshkosh University of Wisconsin.

Currently he is Professor at Conservatorio Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, CSMA and Terrassa Conservatorio.
